Mayor Errick D. Simmons is the first African-American male and the second African-American mayor of Greenville, Mississippi, where he received the highest percentage (74%) of the popular vote ever received by a mayoral candidate in Greenville.

In 2007, Mayor Errick D. Simmons began his career in municipal government.

Fire Department

GFD is the largest fire department in the Mississippi Delta. We are an eighty-nine man department with eight fire stations throughout the city. We respond to approximately 1,200 calls per year.
